Motion Analysis Laboratory

The Motion Analysis Laboratory (LAM-Motion Lab) specializes in the analysis of three-dimensional motion, whether that of living subjects (human or animal) or structures (mechanical systems, civil engineering).

L

he laboratory is a joint interfaculty entity of the Faculties of Applied Sciences and Medicine. The laboratory's multidisciplinary team includes engineers, physiotherapists and physicians. The laboratory also has a strong link with the Sart-Tilman University Hospital.

Laboratory equipment consists mainly of 3D measurement units (kinematic analysis), force platforms (kinetic analysis) and electromyographic sensors (muscle activity).

The LAM-Motion Lab is involved in research activities in various fields. These include human-structure interactions in flexible structures, the development of biomechanical models of the human body, performance optimization and injury prevention in sport, the development of sensors for ambulatory gait analysis, etc.
