Sébastien Erpicum awarded with the Hydraulic Structures Medal

Sébastien Erpicum, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Manager of the Hydraulic Structures Laboratory (HECE) within the Urban and Environmental Engineering Research Unit (UEE), has just been awarded the Hydraulic Structures Medal of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This medal rewards his work in the field of hydraulic engineering.

very year, the American Society of Civil Engineers awards the Hydraulic Structures Medal to honor individuals who contribute significantly to the art and science of hydraulic engineering in the context of hydraulic structures. This year, the award went to Sebastien Erpicum, Associate Professor at ULiege, in charge of the Engineering Hydraulics Laboratory – HECE of the Research Unit UEE for “his significant contributions to the hydraulic engineering community in the areas of piano key weir spillway design and for organizing International Labyrinth and Piano Key Weir workshops that advanced the science.” The award should have been delivered at 2020 World Environmental and Water Resources Congress in Henderson, Nevada, in May. Unfortunately, the event has been cancelled because of Covid-19 pandemic.
