Sébastien Erpicum awarded the 22nd Arthur Thomas Ipenn Award of the IAHR

Sébastien Erpicum, Associate Professor at ULiège School of Engineering and Manager of the Hydraulic Structures Laboratory  (HECE) within the Urban and Environmental Engineering Research Unit (UEE), has just been awarded the 22nd Arthur Thomas Ippen Award of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).

T

his award rewards his works in the field of hydraulics and hydraulic structures engineering. Every two years, in memory of Professor Ippen, IAHR President (1959-1963), IAHR honorary member (1963-1974), the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) awards the Arthur Thomas Ippen Award  to honor one of its members who has demonstrated conspicuously outstanding ability, originality, and accomplishment in basic hydraulic research and/or applied hydraulic engineering, and who holds great promise for continuation of a high level of productivity in this profession.

This year, the award went to Sébastien Erpicum, Associate Professor at ULiege, in charge of the Engineering Hydraulics Laboratory – HECE of the Research Unit UEE for “outstanding leading research regarding the hydraulics and fluid mechanics of hydraulic structures”. The awardee will deliver the Arthur Thomas Ippen Lecture during the 34th IAHR World Congress in Granada in 2022.
